Mundanthurai Wildlife Sanctuary

Hemis National Park

Sunderbans Wildlife Sanctuary
Welcome to the largest tiger reserve and a national park in India. Situated at the southern tip of West Bengal Sunderbans, it forms a rich and dark stretch of impenetrable mangrove forests. Sunderbans is a home for more than 250 tigers and a preserves rarest of species like masked finfoot, mangrove pitta and mangrove whistler.
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Periyar wildlife sanctuary is a perfect example of nature at its best. This sanctuary is located on the ghats of Periyar River at Thekkady in Kerala. It is covered with dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grasslands. It’s basically a reserve for tigers and elephants but also a home for gaurs, lions and nilgiri langurs.
Chilka Lake Bird Sanctuary
Not only for wildlife enthusiasts or nature lovers but this sanctuary can also be visited by honeymoon couples. This place provides a beautiful panoramic view and the chilka lake also have two beautiful islands too i.e. honeymoon island and breakfast island. They are known for the striking beauty of the migratory birds they possess. So if you are planning a Orissa trip than this place is a sure shot.
Kanha National Park
Counted amongst the most well maintained wildlife sanctuaries, this place is the pride of India. And who doesn’t know our ‘mowgli’ from jungle book? You can call this national park as mowgli’s home because this has been the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s jungle book. Found under the project tiger Kanha National Park at present is home for varied animals.
Khangchendzonga National Park
A place that holds the power to leave you awestruck and jawdrop is Khangchendzonga only. It is included in the magnificent ecosystems of the world. As it is located on the third highest peak in the world Khangchendzonga, Sikkim, the reserve is home to the snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, Tibetan antelope, wild ass, barking deer, musk deer, flying squirrel and the red panda etc.

Jim Corbett National Park
Located at the foothills of Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand this national park is oldest in India. Covering a wide area and wide variety of animals it attracts a lot of tourists. People enjoy the jeep safari in the Corbett national park. It has the tiger population of about 160 and apart from this more than 586 species are residents here.
Dachigam National park
Located in the heaven itself this national park is surrounded by the beautiful scenic mountains. Provides a home for rare Kashmir stag (Hangul), also black and brown bears. This wildlife sanctuary could be the perfect trekking destination too.
Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga is another world heritage site located in the state of Assam. The park is located alongside river Brahmaputra and is famous for the preservation of one horned rhinoceros. There are no panoramic views but it will give you a complete jungle feel. Tall grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools to add on!
Bandipur National Park
Popularly known as Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, this national park is regarded as one of the most beautifully managed reserve. Located amidst the surrounding of western ghats and mysore ooty highway in Karnataka, this place protects the Indian elephants, gaurs, tigers, sloth bears, muggers, Indian rock pythons, four-horned antelopes and dholes.
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
Enveloped in Western Ghats located in the state of Kerala this place is 400m to 2,522m above the sea level. It is home to 34 species of mammals along with 240 of the only grizzled giant squirrels. Gaur, Tigers, Sambar Deer, Common langur, Bonnet Macaque, Hanuman monkey, threatened Nilgiri Tahr are also found.
