- Certain features like complex sales ordering, batch transaction processing are not supported on QuickBooks online.

- After creating an online account, 60 days are given to convert the data. You need to request a new one, if the time limit is exhausted.
- The process replaces the existing information in QuickBooks online with the Desktop one. A message appears on screen before any data is overwritten.
- Payroll: Ensure that taxes are paid and any ex-employee is marked as inactive before the conversion takes place.
- Reports: In the Desktop version, run the profit and loss report and balance sheet beforehand and match it with the post-conversion data.
Process
- Sign up for QuickBooks online, login to your account and complete your profile.
- In the Desktop software, select company > export company file to QuickBooks online.
- A pop up window will ask you to login to QuickBooks online. Follow the given instructions.
- Conversion begins. It might take up to 24 hours. You will receive an email once the conversion completes.
